9:35 pm - Hermits and the Pursuit of Knowledge!
Good bye, dearest livejournal, for now. I am going on a long-term hiatus. I'll still be lurking around for fic, meta and comm discussions, but that's it.

You see, my dearest livejournal, though you are lovely, I tire of your charms and tempers. It's not just you, I tire too of Blogspot and whatever online personal diaries there are. I grow weary of the endless whining/bitching/PMS/emo/wank/pr0n/attention-seeking etc, which is so rife in the realm of blogging.

This is nothing personal directed specifically at anybody. I just get enough of the things listed above in RL.  It's too much when it spreads online. Not that I actively seek it out, mind you. I just keep stumbling across teenage emo! blogs when surfing and linking randomly. RANDOMLY. What are the odds?

Not that I'm saying people shouldn't be emo! or whatever on their blogs. But for the good of the Internet population at large, put a WARNING up for God's sake. Sheesh.

I will miss the icons though. Especially the really cute Goku chatspeak icons and the Kasai icon I'm using now, because they are simply lovely.

I return to the comfort of books. Nice, solid books that have summaries, so I know what the hell I'm in for, and I can put down at anytime and are generally peaceful and uncomplicated and very, very soothing. I am going to cuddle up with David Hare plays, have quickies before breakfast with Stephen Sewell's political plays, go for tea with Hawking's History of Time, have weekly lunches with Clausewitz's On the Nature of War, and croon sweet serenades to Christopher Marlowe's collected plays.

I could go on and on about the many beautiful books I now have at my disposal, thanks to book sales, libraries and hand-me-downs from my parent's university days. But I won't because then I'll never stop. No good poetry, though,  but I am compensating by  owning TWO copies of the Art of War! One by Machiavelli and one by Sun Tsu and ... yeah, okay, shutting up about the books now.

It's going to take months, no, a LIFETIME, to finish my reading list but that's a good thing. Us ignoramuses must work hard at the Pursuit of Knowledge! Truly, there is no other hobby than the Pursuit of Knowledge (for little other reason than Knowledge's sake) that gives such delectable delight. So persistent, yet undemanding. For Knowledge makes free with other men - blatantly so - but such is the pleasure she gives me by her sheer existence that I can find little reason to complain. Rose-tinted glasses she sets across my eyes  and my heart takes its rest in her ample bosom. Such undisputed beauty and loveliness! With her wiles, she deceives and confuses me again and again, but I am left crying, no, pleading that she but deceive me once again!

Ladies and gentlemen, in my enraptured state, I fear I must bid you goodbye and au revoir.

9:03 am - What do you mean it's a real song?!?
So apparently Rah Rah Rasputin is an actual song performed by Bony M. And here I was giving the resident gay village credit for the lyrics. Anyway, since I fail at transcribing, the original lyrics are

By the way, anybody know any good Lenin/Trotsky fic?

9:10 pm - Flailing attemps to revive Migu's heterosexuality go here
Stumbled upon random graphic design piece on Snape/Lupin by [info]karasu_hime. Uh, it's kinda genius that:

Snape = Adrien Brody (the nose!) and Lupin = Ralph Fiennes (OMG. Dark, beastly hawtness there), except for that tiny part where Ralph Fiennes plays, uh, Voldemorde.

Oh, and lookie here, it's Victorian age Snape and Lupin! And yes, Snape's very flimsy and very short pajama top and conspicuous lack of pants is more than appealing.

Shut up, I'm trying to revive my heterosexuality here. Trying after yesterday's appalling date, during which I discovered that I will always be seme even in a heterosexual relationship. At this rate, I'm gonna score better with a dominatrix.

Thank you to [info]___gauche for having coffee with me and being so, so Tokitoh, allowing me to recover from said traumatic afternoon. I still owe her something cute, soft and fluffy.

Thanks also to [info]flavid_thujone for indulging me with numerous text message conversations over the holidays. And my, uh, not-quite ikebana. HER BIRTHDAY IS 2 JULY. Guess which lovely lady is getting a cat-alogue for her birthday?

Oh, and I will be on hiatus for the next week or so, but I'll try my very best to catch up with my flist when I get back. Yeah. I'll miss you livejournal, fandom wank, pr0n, goats and all.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!-bye.

PS: I cannot stop using the Gaiden!Goku icon. socute!

11:54 am - Inuyasha..reloaded?!?
Aha, because I am bored and this is more amusing under the influence of breakfast coffee, I am pimping Inuyasha..reloaded? on YouTube. In which the cast of Inuyasha meets Saiyuki Reload's Wild Rock opening. It's actually quite well arranged all things considered.

Oh, look, there's more of these! Gensoumaden's Saiyuki's opening Still Time meets the cast of Inuyasha!  I will never get sick of this song. Shaddup, I've been in love with Saiyuki since elementary school. Still Time brings back fond memories, okay?

WTF. Here's another one, this time using Saiyuki's For Real.

Go on. You know you want to see ;-)

I...so need to find that Inuyasha-Saiyuki crossover fic I read a while ago. (I am not even kidding.)

Do you know there are MORE of these Inuyasha-Saiyuki crossover thingys on YouTube? I only pimped the good ones. Seriously, I suspect these fandoms have long been cavorting together in the dark. Ahem.

I DO NOT WANT TO WATCH INUYASHA. I DO NOT. I HAVE THREE FANDOMS. THIS HAS TO STOP. I DO NOT WANT TO WATCH INUYASHA...Yeah, I'll just keep telling myself that.

AND NO, I DO NOT WANT TO READ BLEACH EITHER (But Ishida! Ishida Ruuken!) AND I REALLY DON'T WANNA READ HANA KIMI. I DON'T I DON'T Umeda! Akiha! Umeda! AAARGH!

Muse: (Cheeps) Ishida?

9:14 pm - Rasputin ze lurrve machine!
I realise I didn't mention the RMUN Fashion Parade in my earlier post. Basically, countries had to perform a small skit/dance/song on a great leader of their country. Anyway, somebody uploaded a few of the Fashion Parade videos and I decided to share them, because OMG TEH GAY.

USSR's video PWNS for students truly living up to their school's reputation for being the nanciest school in the country. (Do you know that in their rulebook it is specifically stated that crossdressing is not allowed?) 'Go go Rasputin, Russia's greatest love machine! [Insert vigorous pelvic gyration - and note the all-male cast?]' Somebody needs to transcibe the lyrics, yo.

Next up: Jordan! In which we have - wait for it - crossdressing! (Be patient, it comes at the end, but well worth the wait) Not very well done, but, my, that delegate looks sweet in that skirt! Nice legs, love! I am enjoying this way more than I have a right to.

Ah, shit. And youtube has died on me. Very well, I depart for now. Will update when youtube is being more co-operative.

EDIT: I am back! With more craziness.

Okay, this one wasn't from the fashion parade, but I'm sure all Math students will find it amusing.  Parallel lines - In which the Brazilian delegate makes his point through a very interesting graphical analogy.

And now - Afghanistan! Because Osama bin Laden is apparently one hot, sexy mama. 'I like to see your body moooooooove!'

USA could give Jordan a run for their money with Martin Luther King and Marilyn Monroe! Hold onto your seats, ladies and gentlemen, for we have more crossdressing! Check it out.  But I still think the Jordan delegate has better legs.

Last but not least, winner of RMUN Fashion Parade - CHINA! 'Cause Mao is one groovy dude and he's Stayin' Alive!  Let's do the Hustle, baby!

10:27 pm - Raffles Model United Nations
I spent three days at the Raffles Model United Nations  (RMUN 2006) - basically a college-moderated mock UN conference. It's been educational, to say the least. And extremely humorous. Do bear in mind that anything posted under the cut is in no way related to the actual United Nations, but refers to the model UN conference organised by Raffles Junior College. So if I talk about the Somalian delegate, I'm referring to the student representing Somalia in the mock-debate, not the actual Somalian delegate. Here's a few quotes to amuse anyone who's reading:

9:11 pm - What happened to Civilised Debate?
People call this fandom wank. (Scroll down and read the comments) I call it academic bitching. Either way, it scaaaaaaaares me. (Hold me, Saaaaan-chan!) I totally don't give a shit about the backstabbing world of school socio-politics. Nor am I fazed by the relentless politicking and under-the-table bitching at model United Nations. I can face ugly debates without blinking an eye and my closest companion is a grammer Nazi. Serious academic bitching, however, makes me cower and want to hide under a blanket.

Plus, it didn't end there. There were follow-up posts here, here and the situation probably would have exacerbated had not a moderator taken mature action (I cannot stress the word 'mature' enough) here. Sheesh.

Civilised debate, where are you now?

8:49 pm - Like Gyumaoh to the Minus Wave
A song compilation for someone I used to know. Funny how people seem so normal when you first meet them, then start going psycho a few months later, huh?

Everybody does that to me. I wonder why. I'm like fucking Gyumaoh to the Minus Wave. Get too close to me, you go batshit insane. Or maybe they were just insane to begin with and I never really noticed.

9:54 pm

Yes, [info]flavid_thujone (the Lady Mash) has convinced me to RPG with her. I am a bit tentative, but I daresay I could do it with enough pratice. I used to act quite a bit, so this shouldn't be too difficult, right? Right?

Um, she's doing some mysterious characters that she stubbornly refers to elaborate on, despite much coaxing on my part. [Glances at the Lady Mash reproachfully] I get the feeling they're fantasy-based, female and travel a lot (she did mention taverns) but that's all I gather. I was thinking of doing Executive Committee Kubota, only I don't have a Tokitoh-mun (looks at [info]___gauche - THIS IS A HINT) and well, canon, is very vague on a lot of details (does Kubota live in his own apartment? Does Tokitoh live with him? What the hell is up with Kubota and Matsumoto?) so it means lots of inference and probably guesswork on my part when it comes down to it. I think I'll definitely end up siphoning some stuff from WA-verse, but I'm trying to keep that to a minimum, since they are separate canons, after all.

Well, there's nothing left but to give it a shot. If I fail terribly, I'll switch character. I could be the groovy 60-year-old pink-haired Grandmother, working as a pimp.

...Actually, that sounds quite good. I could buy a faux fur pimp coat. Hmmm...

11:08 am - Slag Off Your OTP Day
Inspired by the HP fandom's Slag Off Your OTP Day, which I've probably missed by now, so I'm posting it here. In which Migu rants about her pet peeves. Please bear in mind that these are opinions. I don't intend to offend anybody and I don't mind if you disagree, but let's try not to be bitches about it. I leave you to your opinion, you leave me to mine, 'kay? :)

8:21 pm - Yeah, there be shameless fangirling here
So, quick post before I am bodily removed from computer.

Go here: http://bane-huntress.co.uk/OffLicence/WildAdapter.html

courtesy of banhe-huntress-san for Executive Committee (Araiso) scan to see Kubota in Sanzo outfit!!! No, I have no idea what the hell he's doing in that because NO TRANSLATION of Araiso Vol. 1 is available (pointed glance at Aestheticism). But so amusing.

And see pg 2 bottom right hand corner? Kubota and Tokitoh having a Hakkai-Gojyo moment! Reincarnation!theory validated!  Btw, Seki Toshihiko who voices Sanzo (I think) does the voice for Kou-san (Chinese medicine/contraband goods seller) in the WA drama disc. Another star for reincarnation!theory!!! Also, bet Kou's voice is hot as hell.

...Must. Get. WA Drama Disc.

Oh! And while Araiso the manga has been stalled, it is now an ongoing anime series!

And a little bird told me that WILD ADAPTER ANIME is being produced. Hee. (Bounces with glee)
